A Floyd's 99 Barbershop is different from the moment the client walks into the door. The atmosphere is upbeat, modern, eclectic. Although you’ll definitely find a consistency among all Floyd’s locations, what you won’t find is a cookie-cutter shop. “When you first walk in, it’s very different,” says Joe Zemla, Senior Director of Franchising. “It’s somewhere that takes you away from the everyday.”

We have our own radio station playing great music. You’re greeted like an old friend by the front desk staff -- our Client Service Coordinators or CSCs -- and the barbers and stylists. You’ll even get a nice shoulder massage while you’re there. It’s simply not your typical hair salon or barbershop for men.



Each shop is plastered with a unique poster wall of the music legends we admire, and most Floyd’s have custom artwork or murals of icons which allows us to be a part of the community, urban to suburban.

Beyond repping the personalities of our communities, we actively give back to them – whether sponsoring youth baseball teams or offering free cuts to local schools, charities and organizations. On a national level, we’re committed to supporting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation JDRF, the largest contributor to cutting-edge Type-1 Diabetes T1D research.

“They are licensed by law, but we also have to train them to our guidelines and our best practices as far as how we run our business and some of the points of difference that we try to offer with our service experience,” says Patrick Butler, Technical Director/Education for Floyd’s.

To ensure service consistency, we have formulated the exact steps every Floyd’s team member follows to treat every client who comes in the door:

  1. Welcome client upon arrival
  2. Accurately quote wait time and manage their wait
  3. Greet client in waiting area, shake hands and team walk to station
  4. Provide a personalized consultation
  5. Suggest a massage shampoo and provide FREE to new clients
  6. Deliver haircut with mid-point check-in and hot-lather neck shave
  7. Provide a rinse-off to help your client feel fresh and clean
  8. Finish with a style and product recommendation
  9. Treat your client to a relaxing shoulder massage
  10. Recap the service and provide a final check-in
  11. Team walk to front, shake client’s hand and thank them
