A Barbershop Franchise with Personality

The story of Floyd’s 99 Barbershop begins with three brothers: Bill, Rob, and Paul O’Brien. Each had a different vision for what the perfect haircut experience should be. Bill wanted an excellent experience while getting a quality cut. Rob wanted a place that provided that same quality but with the convenience to fit his busy schedule. Paul wanted expert styling without having to go to a stuffy, overpriced salon. The options available at the time were limited—either visit your grandfather’s barbershop or splurge at an upscale salon. There was nothing that struck the balance they all craved.

Determined to create a place that offered expert cuts with an amplified experience for everyone, the O’Brien brothers pioneered what would become the modern-day barbershop. They envisioned a place where the atmosphere was as welcoming as the service was exceptional—a place where people could be themselves, feel comfortable, and look their best. Floyd’s 99 Barbershop was born from this vision, setting out to redefine an entire industry.

The first Floyd’s 99 Barbershop opened its doors in downtown Denver in 2001, driven by a simple mission: to provide high-quality, on-trend haircuts and styles for both men and women, all while delivering a memorable, customer-first experience. By employing talented stylists and barbers, Floyd’s combined the classic barbershop approach to customer service with modern hair styling techniques. The result was a magnetic vibe that quickly drew a loyal clientele eager to return time and time again.

Fast forward to today, and Floyd’s has expanded from a single shop in Denver to over 135 locations nationwide. Despite this impressive growth, we’ve remained a family-owned business that holds true to the same principles that guided us from the start: a commitment to delivering a great experience, ensuring convenience for our clients, and providing top-notch expertise without the attitude.
